I was overwhelmed by the joys and challenges of parenting early on in my role as "Mom."
While gratitude was often near, anger and an ever-present fear of failure also persistently lingered like a dark shadow.
Being a wife and mom had always been my dream and an important "step" in my life plan. I have prayed for and over these precious children all their lives and I have always known they are an absolute gift from God. I counted on the JOYS but found myself repeatedly undone by the hard.
Community met a need I had to survive and it quickly became a passion. Ultimately, community is how I got here. God has taught me so much about His heart and His nature, about others, and especially about me through the gift of community. When I opened my heart, mind, and life to allowing others to speaking into me, huge change began.
Something supernatural occurs when God gives us eyes to see the beauty in another person's story and then the privilege to share it with them.
Every time we share a "me too" or "I hear you" we normalize the realities of life's joys and challenges.
I am thankful my generation and those younger see asking for help (through joining groups, meeting with friends, reaching out to a coach, or talking with a counselor, etc) as LIFE ENRICHMENT. We don't have to wait until it's worse case scenario. There is great freedom for us when we invite others into our story or situation.
For me, it is a great honor to have you join this community. I look forward to the opportunity to listen and normalize, encourage and offer practical tips and tools, and, essentially, to hear your story.
"He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them close to his heart, and gently lead those who have young." ~Isaiah 40:11
